1. Prize Skulpturenprojekt Ebersberg
Kunstverein Ebersberg, Germany
Television coverage by muenchen.tv (in German)
Belfagor is a hybrid figure oscillating between space shuttle and sarcophagus. It envisions space around a figure, tries to create a silhouette of void. Void is endless and this should be tangible when looking at Belfagor, despite the fact that the statue has a clearly defined and solid body made of Vicenza limestone.
Belfagor will be standing in Ebersberg right next to the local Kunstverein for one year and comes along with a video that tells the story of its voyage across the Alps from the place in Veneto, Italy where it was built, to Ebersberg. Immobility and motion, reality and virtuality connect to form an entertaining ensemble.
Wie Belfagor über die Alpen kam..., Full HD Video in German with Italian subtitles, 23:01 min
The video is accessible in situ via a QR code.
