Belfagor is a hybrid of space shuttle and sarcophagus. An attempt to sculpturally capture the space around a figure, to give an outline not to matter but to nothingness. Nothingness has no boundaries and this should be tangible in Belfagor, although the statue has a clear, solid body made of Vicenza limestone.
The project is accompanied by a video that playfully documents Belfagor's journey across the Alps from its place of origin in Veneto to Ebersberg. The static and the moving, the analog and the digital form an entertaining combination.
