This is Mr Mohammed. He has a bazaar near the Memnon Colossi in Luxor and gets up at five in the morning to sell Nefertiti busts, lucky scarabs and sacred cats to the day tourists for 250 LE, the equivalent of 5 euros.

miniMEMNON documents the development of a business relationship in the form of a blog. The business partners are a fictional character and the Egyptian owner of a bazaar; the products on offer are miniature copies of the Memnon Colossi in Luxor.

Presenting physical work in virtual space.

I am currently shooting a video that ties into the exploration of the relationship between creator and work via the fundamental form of the pyramid. In the ancient Egyptian metaphysics as well as in current researches of quantum physics the pyramid is regarded as a fundamental building block of the universe. According to this research, the world is made up of information generated via solids such as the octahedron (2 pyramids attached to each other) and an observing consciousness.

Belfagor ist ein Hybrid aus Space Shuttle und Sarkophag. Der Versuch, den Raum um eine Figur herum plastisch zu erfassen, nicht der Materie, sondern dem Nichts einen Umriss zu geben. Das Nichts hat keine Grenzen und das soll bei Belfagor fühlbar sein, obwohl die Statue einen klaren, festen Körper aus Kalkstein von Vicenza besitzt.
