Public Art, Skulpturensommer 2016 - H.ART
Davos, Schweiz
Grenzstein / pietra di confine / borne / landmark
Originally thought to be made of stone, with an an inscription valid once and for all (people thought I was sculpting a gravestone), the project gradually softened up into a wooden prototype with additional tags in red.
On one side the engraved inscription says
"Bis hierher sollst du kommen und nicht weiter..." (So far you may come, and no farther)
and the tag "Eddaje... muoviti!!!" (Come on... get with it!)
On the other the inscription says
"...qui si arresteranno le tue onde superbe" (and here the pride of your waves will be stopped)
and the tag "Nö, Süße, da geht noch was." (no, honey, I think there's room for more).
An olive branch and an oak leave are sculpted on the smaller sides.
I might have to face some linguistic incomprehension here, but this is part of what borders are made of. Apologies.
